Where The Sun Rises & The Tides Meet
The Eastern Kings Community Council is the most eastern municipality in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Our boundaries encompass the geographic locations of Baltic, Basin Head, Bayfield, Bothwell, Campbell's Cove, East Baltic, East Lake, East Point, Fairfield, Glencorradale, Kingsboro, Lakeville, Munns Road, North Lake, Priest Pond, Red Point and South Lake. Our closest town is Souris , which is about a five minute drive from Red Point. Our community is diverse. Our residents are employed in a wide variety of occupations. The industries of fishing and farming predominate, as they have for generations. We also welcome our visitors from away to our many attractions such as the Basin Head Fisheries Museum and Provincial Park, the Confederation Trail, East Point Lighthouse and the Elmira Railway Museum. Three churches serves our community; Kingsboro Baptist Church, St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield, and the South Lake Church of Christ. The educational needs of our youth are met at Eastern Kings Consolidated School on Munn's Road and the Souris Regional High School in Souris. Eastern Kings is also home to the new East Point Wind Farm, situated at the end of the Elmira Road, in North Lake. There is a strong sense of community in our council area. A wide range of activities are hosted at the Eastern Kings Community Centre, as well as other venues in the district. Photos of various community events may be found HERE. We also are served by the all-volunteer Eastern Kings Fire Department, situated in South Lake. We live one of the most beautiful and scenic areas of Canada. Souris Regional High district photographs are posted on this site originating from Kingsboro, on a daily basis. Copyright Eastern Kings Community Council |
